SEBD 2024 Awards

In this edition several Awards have conferred to outstanding members of the SEBD Community, and in particular the Career Excellence Awards, the Taste of Time Award, and the Taste of Time Honorable Mention.

Career Excellence Award

The winners of the Career Excellence Award are:

• Prof. Sonia Bergamaschi (University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy): ‘O Sonia Mia (video) performed by Letizia Tanca and Mimmo Saccà, testo di ‘O Sonia Mia by Mimmo Saccà

Taste of Time Award and Honorable Mention

• SEBD 2024 Taste of Time Award goes to Paolo Ciaccia, Marco Patella, Fausto Rabitti, Pavel Zezula for their SEBD 1997 paper titled Indexing Metric Spaces with M-Tree: download ToT Award
• SEBD 2024 Taste of Time Honorable Mention goes to Massimo La Camera, Luigi Palopoli, Domenico Saccà, Domenico Ursino for their SEBD 1997 paper titled Knowledge Discovery su Schemi per l’Integrazione di Basi di Dati: download ToT honorable mention

Outstanding Participation Awards

The 32nd edition of the SEBD counted 120 registered participants. The Outstanding Participation Awards highlight the institutions with the highest number of members attending the SEBD conference.

This year’s podium features:

1. With an impressive 14 members, the gold medal goes to Università della Calabria!
2. Not far behind, with 10 members, the silver medal goes to Università di Modena e Reggio Emilia!
3. Very close, with 9 members each, the bronze medal goes to Università di Milano and Sapienza Università di Roma!
